Outreach and Resource Specialists (OARS)

New parents at Maui Memorial Medical Center are greeted by a member of the Outreach and Resource Specialists(OARS)  teamand informed about the programs and services available to them through Maui Family Support Services, Inc. and other community resources. First time parents are given “Keiki O Hawaii” parent support information.

Consenting parents are asked questions geared toward understanding each family’s strengths, needs, and concerns. Parents are offered MFSS program services based on their responses to the questions. The OARS team also accepts referrals from physicians and other professionals. The OARS  program is partially funded by Bank of Hawaii and charitable foundations.
